CAR-NOVA.i (“we,” “us,” or “our”) is committed to transparency and respecting your privacy. Our games and tools — including GridWord, EchoSlip, Photo Puzzle, and all interactive CAR-NOVA experiences — collect only the minimum information needed to operate smoothly, improve performance, and understand how visitors use our site.

We do not sell data, create user profiles, or attempt to personally identify any individual.

2. Information We Collect

 Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand overall site traffic and gameplay usage.
This includes:

  • Device type (mobile, desktop, tablet)

  • Browser type and version

  • Region-level location data (city-level or broader, never exact address)

  • Pages visited

  • Time spent on pages and game screens

  • Basic interaction data (button clicks, navigation)

Google Analytics does NOT give us:

  • Names

  • Email addresses

  • Home address

  • Exact GPS coordinates

  • Any personally identifiable information

  • Your puzzle data or best times

Google may set cookies to analyze trends and measure site performance. You can opt out anytime by adjusting your browser settings or using Google’s opt-out tools.

2.1 Legal Basis for Analytics

​Where applicable under privacy laws such as PIPEDA or GDPR, analytics data is processed based on user consent and legitimate interest in understanding general site usage.

Visitors may disable cookies through browser settings or by using available Google Analytics opt-out tools.

3. Local Storage (On Your Device Only)

Our games use local storage to save:

  • Best times

  • Current puzzle state

  • Game settings (sound, voice, difficulty, tile size, etc.)

  • Daily puzzle completion flags

This data:

  • Stays entirely on your device

  • Is never sent to our servers

  • Is never shared with Google Analytics

  • Can be erased at any time by clearing your browser’s local storage

We cannot see or access your game data.

3.1 Gameplay & Local Storage Data

​Phuzzle may store gameplay progress locally in your browser using technologies such as localStorage or IndexedDB. This may include:

- Puzzles completed
- Best times or performance statistics
- Selected grid sizes or preferences
- Accessibility feature settings

This information remains on your device and is not transmitted to Carson Designs or any third party.

You may clear this data at any time by clearing your browser storage or using in-game reset features where available.

4. Cookies

Our website may use standard cookies to:

  • Support Google Analytics

  • Improve loading performance

  • Maintain basic site functionality

No tracking cookies beyond analytics are used.

5. Information You Provide Voluntarily

If you contact us directly (e.g., via a contact form or email), we may receive:

  • Your name

  • Your message

  • Your email address

This information is used only to respond to you.
We do not add you to newsletters, lists, or marketing campaigns unless you specifically request it.

6. How We Use the Information

We use analytics and general site metrics to:

We never combine analytics with personal data.

  • GitHub Pages (hosting for some game projects)

  • Wix (hosting for main CAR-NOVA Lab and website infrastructure)

Each third-party platform maintains its own privacy and security policies.

9. Privacy

CAR-NOVA.i content is family-friendly, but our site is not intended to collect personal information from children. We intentionally avoid gathering anything that could identify a child or user.

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

- Request access to personal information we hold about you
- Request correction or deletion of personal information
- Withdraw consent to analytics processing

As Carson Designs does not maintain user accounts or store identifiable gameplay data, most requests can be addressed by clearing local browser data.

10. Future Features (Forward-Compatible Clause)

To support evolving CAR-NOVA projects — such as leaderboards, cloud saves, accounts, or downloadable tools — we reserve the right to update this policy.
Any major changes will be noted with a new version number and date.

We will continue to protect user privacy and only collect the minimum information required for features you choose to use.
