(Polyethylene Terephthalate Glycol)
This polymer has some amazing properties that make it ideal for a wide range of applications. It has amazing chemical resistance, high strength, and great durability!
Pros & Cons of petG
Amazing chemical resistance to bases, salts, mineral acids, aliphatic hydrocarbons and dilute aqueous solutions of mineral acids, as well as a variety of oils.
The amorphous structure of petG means it will have a very uniform (isotropic) shrinkage.
PetG is very hydrophobic, meaning it doesn't like to absorb moisture! It is very suitable for wet environments! It absorbs 3 times less water than ABS!
Things to avoid
Halogenated hydrocarbons, short chain length ketones, and aromatic hydrocarbons still dissolve or swell the plastic.
